Premier League Legends Help Raise £160K at Wimbledon Charity Match

A star-studded football match that has raised more than £160,000 for a children’s hospital charity is heading to Wimbledon for the first time…with a Premier League legend set to make his debut.

Goals 4 GOSH comes to The Cherry Red Records Stadium, the home of AFC Wimbledon, on Sunday, May 25, with all proceeds from the event going to Great Ormond Street Hospital’s (GOSH) Children’s Charity.

Since launching in summer 2021, the annual Goals 4 GOSH events — organised by Charlotte Styles and Jamie Groves, Regional Development Director at Funeral Partners — have raised over £160,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

As part of his role overseeing regional growth and development, Jamie is also passionate about giving back to the community. His involvement in events like Goals 4 GOSH reflects Funeral Partners’ wider commitment to making a positive impact beyond the day-to-day business.

On this occasion, Chelsea hero and Real Madrid Galactico Eden Hazard will be making his Goals 4 GOSH debut, playing alongside other football stars like Troy Deeney, Joe Cole, Lianne Sanderson and Wimbledon legend Jason Euell.

Celebrities from TV, entertainment and music will also grace the pitch at the ground in Plough Lane including rapper and actor Santan Dave, Bionic from BBC’s Gladiators and YouTube superstar Danny Aarons.

Jamie’s friend Charlotte Styles is the co-organiser of the event, and, such is their dedication to fundraising, both were honoured in GOSH Charity’s Together for Childhood awards last year.

Jamie said: “When we came up with this idea in 2021, we had no idea how big it would become. But we have raised an incredible amount of money for such a super causer, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved.

“We’re extremely grateful to Funeral Partners for their continued support as our principal sponsor for the fifth consecutive year. I personally appreciate all the support, funding and the flexibility they’ve given me to organise these events.

“We are excited to be coming to Wimbledon for the first time, the line-up this year is absolutely brilliant, and I can’t wait for kick-off.”

The day begins with a social media influencer and local business tournament starting at 10.30am, with the main game kicking off at 4pm.

Tickets for Goals 4 GOSH can be purchased on the Goals 4 GOSH website – https://goals4gosh.co.uk/ or the Goals 4 GOSH Facebook and Instagram pages priced at £13 for adults, £8 for under-16s and free for under-5s.
